Mary Williams sets up a camera in her bedroom, adjusting it after she begins recording. She sucks her bottom lip into her mouth as she looks into the viewfinder.
Mary: Okay, we’re good.
So um… hi?
Sorry, I’ve never really done this part before. I had my very first match nearly three years ago when I was just sixteen. But that was more of a throw a few people into a high school gymnasium, and see where it goes type of deal. Sure, I could have gotten a YouTube channel sooner, and started talking about my opponents that way, but I was more concerned with honing my craft. It helped that they put me up against guys who didn’t want to say anything, either. Things are different now, though. I am actually signed with an actual company. Before I was just a free agent.
I know that this isn’t exactly the big leagues, but it’s something. Plus, it’s my first main event. Falls Count Anywhere. Yeah, that’s kinda new, too. When you are having your fun in gymnasiums, there isn’t much in the way of insurance. Plus, it’s not like you can go in classrooms and wreck things.
On May 8th, I’m going to Seattle, Washington.I’ll be in a triple threat match against Adam Rize and Maddox Lucien. Someone who calls himself the Sheriff, and a former CIA operate. That makes me a little nervous. Does that make anyone else a little nervous? Just in theory, though. These are just two men, one twice my size, and another a little bigger than that. I don’t stand a chance, right? Under normal circumstances, probably not. This is the sort of thing that I thrive on, though. I may not have faced someone quite like Mister Lucien before, I have all of the confidence necessary to believe that I can do more than fine.
Adam Rize is quite the character. The type of character that you wouldn’t expect to see in the very beginning of a play. Some things need to be established before the feeling that someone is needed to enforce standards. That’s cool, though. I’m sure that doesn’t take away from his obvious… abilities.
She smiled, licking her lips.
Mary: Anyway, I don’t see him as much of a challenge. He should be able to put on a good fight, though.
Then there is the old man, Maddox Lucien. He’s probably going to play the age card on us. Just because he is significantly older than both Adam and myself, he is automatically going to beat us. But I’m not exactly new to this, sir. You have had a whole ‘nother career before stepping into the ring, but I have lived in the ring for most of my life. The ring is my home, and you don’t stand a chance against someone on their home turf. So really, thanks for coming, but there will be no cake walk here. I promise you that at least I will not be making things easy for you. Age does not always mean experience, and I will show you just that when we meet in Key Arena this Sunday.
Bring it on, boys!
She grinned as the feed cut.
